Lopez started in television as a 'fly girl' (dancer) on the television
comedy program In Living Color in 1990. She moved to Los Angeles to
film the show but initially hated it. When her boyfriend, David Cruz,
moved to L.A. to be with her, she learned to accept her new
environment.
She also played a small role in a short-lived television program South
Central. She later starred in Second Chances and Hotel Malibu.
