Born January 28, 1969 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Morris spent her childhood moving around the country with her family, when she settled for a time in Pennsyvlania to attend Temple University in Philadelphia.

Waiting to launch her acting career while waiting tables, Morris' big break came with a minor role in Long Road Home, a 1991 movie made for television starring Mark Harmon. Several bit parts followed including a role as a psychiatric patient in As Good As It Gets with Jack Nicholson and Helen Hunt.

Her first big TV role in 1997, as helicopter pilot "Stinger" Lindstrom in the series Pensacola: Wings of Gold lasted for two seasons before she gained a devoted following among Xena-files for her brief stint as Najara in the Xena TV series in 1999. Her most recent notable film roles include playing the wife of Tom Cruise in Minority Report in 2002.

Currently, the actress plays a starring role as detective Lilly Rush in the CBS hit, Cold Case.
